Beyond What You See

Sometime in August of last year I took part in thought-provoking X Space hosted by Julio, a visually impaired lawyer and advocate. This space brought together individuals with lived experiences of disability—including the blind, autistic, and wheelchair users—as well as a parent to a twice-exceptional child and other passionate allies. Each had something raw, deep, and unique to share on the subject of inclusive education in Kenya.
What made this conversation even more powerful was the personal stories shared—not theory, not textbook definitions, but life as it is, in its realest form.
I took time to craft notes from this space. But make no mistake—these are mere snippets of a much deeper and powerful dialogue. To truly feel the pulse of it, I encourage you to click the embedded link below and listen to the full recording. I've added timestamps to help you easily navigate through specific moments.
